Its clear EA has had a huge impact on gaming and has been reviving the industry, where as AAA games and there development methods nearly killed PC gaming.įinally if you took all the bad mentioned EA games and had them go through their development process again without user feedback and support.you honestly think they would have been any better? I have time and time again seen EA games use player feedback and vastly improve themselves by doing so.and as well I have repeatedly played AAAs and wondered if the devs even played their own game there are so may glaring failures. The ones that take advantage of it, ended up with very high quality games, far better than what has ever come out of AAA studios in recent years. ![]() Early Access means your splash is pathetic.Įarly access is a system, some developers take advantage of it, some abuse it. Itch.io's system allows developers to specifically grant access / advance builds only to known, qualified individuals such as gamer news sites or professional beta testers, giving them less mess, less stress, better feedback, and more control over the timing and the quality of The Big Reveal. Not to mention that the sheer volume of open feedback prevents earnest developers from sorting legitimate critique from whiny 13yos while also, y'know, actually finding time to make a game. Secrets of Grindea: The entire game today feels like barely more than the demo I played a year or two ago (but what content exists is good) Starbound: Took ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forever to get anything done, presented itself as a beta when it was an alpha, to this day has terrible design & balance issues, shallow gameplay, crap graphics, etc. So disappointing that Trove was made to replace it Claimed they would make a 2nd game with all the features they didn't put in the 1st one. Towns: Released a beta and lied saying it was full version. Renamed itself Infestation: Survivor Stories The War Z: A blatant scam Steam stepped in and forced a refund to all customers. $800,000 later, not a single one delivered ![]() These are all Early Access titles that suffer(ed) from all of the problems you have listed, to various extents. Do your "AAA games" include by chance Godus, The War Z, Towns, Cube World, Starbound, and Secrets of Grindea? ![]() Originally posted by Mytheos:And the game takes longer to make due to little to no bug reports.Īlso when finished it ends up riddled with poor game mechanics, tons of balance issues, and terribly executed concepts.like most AAA games. ![]()
